How can I repair my radio-controlled roller shutter motor?
Several preliminary tests are needed to diagnose the fault on a radio-controlled electric roller shutter motor:
- Check there are no mechanical blockages which are preventing the shutter panel from winding or unwinding from the casing or the sliders.
- Check that the shutter panel is properly fixed to the winding tube in the casing.
- If the motor is jammed, you must check that the power supply is on.
- Try to reset the motor and reprogramme it.
If the problem persists after all these tests, the motor may in fact be faulty.
Somfy roller shutter radio motors are guaranteed:
- 3 years from the date of purchase, for RMS and Roller-Drive kits.
- 5 years from date of manufacture for other models of motor.
If your motor is still covered by warranty for an RMS or Roller-Drive kit, please contact us, giving as much detail as possible of the fault found, tests performed and the results obtained.
For motors other than RMS or Roller-Drive kits, still in their warranty period, your installer or dealer is responsible for the customer service.
If your model of motor is no longer on sale, you can ask for a home visit from a professional using our SOMFY ASSISTANCE service.
If the motor is no longer covered by warranty, you will have to replace it.
