05.05.2023 Smart solutions by Somfy team Introducing the new Connectivity kit from Somfy We live in an age where new smart products are constantly being presented to us. Some are more functional than others, and some are just complicated to understand. A smart product should be functional and easy to install and manage, otherwise there is always a risk it will be left unused. Somfy has recently launched a new product called the Connectivity kit, which we will look at more closely in this blog post. Perfectly adapted for Somfy motors and lighting Somfy's Connectivity kit is a modern type of control for managing Somfy motors and lighting. Up to 20 products can be controlled via the kit, which is affordable and easy to install. The device supports motors that use either the RTS protocol or the newer io-homecontrol standard. It connects to your Wi-Fi network and has a sleek white design that requires minimal space. Control with the app or by voice With the Connectivity kit you can control and manage Somfy motors and lighting directly via the free app. The app is effectively a digital remote control that you always have with you on your smartphone. While less advanced than the Somfy TaHoma switch, it still offers a range of excellent features that are easy to use. For users who want to control their Somfy motorised products from their smartphone, the Connectivity kit is a good investment. You can easily add scenes – such as lowering your blinds, closing the garage door, or turning on the lights – with the simple touch of a button on your smartphone. It’s also possible to control the Connectivity kit with voice commands, should this be preferred. The Connectivity kit supports Google Home, Amazon Alexa and Apple Home (voice support for Apple Home is limited to motors that use the io-homecontrol protocol). You can create different scenes and activate them with your voice for increased convenience at home, or if you don't have your phone easily accessible. NOTE! The Connectivity kit does not support advanced or time-controlled scenes. Sensor support is not included either. For these functionalities we recommend looking at the TaHoma switch instead. The recommended retail price of the Somfy Connectivity kit is £ 59.00 Find out more Categories Smart solutions Disqus is inactive
