The casing of the awning, also called the cassette, can be completely closed. Your awning is thus optimally protected against wind and weather. The arms of the awning disappear completely into the housing as well.
The awning fabric falls below the top of the casing when the awning is folded in. The retractable arms are outside the cassette in this position. At the bottom, the cassette is (partially) open.
The open construction exposes the fabric and the retractable arms to weather influences. In the Northern climate, this type of awning is best placed under an overhanging roof, for example, so that it is still protected from the weather.
Besides the central fabric, this awning with a retractable arm has another flounce. This is a second piece of fabric, with its own motor, located at the front frame. This fabric is controlled separately to provide extra protection from light and heat to your patio and home.
